Evaluation:Question 3.
Target audience:-
Genre: Soul Jazz
Ages: 18-25
Gender: Unisex
Ethnicity: All
Occupation: Categories: B, C1, C2, D
Hobbies and Interests: Gambling, smoking, drinking, socialising, etc.
I created a questionnaire to give out to my target audience. The reason for this is because I needed to find out what kinds of things they wanted to see or where expecting to see within a music video of this genre. We couldn't consider creating a video that strayed from the things that people wanted to see, because there would always be a risk that no one would want to watch it. This is why we had to cater for the majority of people. Questionnaire Feedback: 1. "Do you think it's necessary to have the star present in the music video?" Most people ticked the 'Yes' box, as they thought the video would be more appealing if the star was in the video(probably to form a better connection with the star)which is why we included a star in our video. 2."Do you think that the visuals should match the lyrics of the video?" This helped us as a group to make decisions based on these results because we wanted as many people as possible to watch and enjoy our video. This is why we decided to let the public be our influences on what micro-elements, themes and scenarios would take place.
This questionnaire helped me to make decisions because from the results, we could see what the audience wanted and what would interest them the most. This is important because we wanted to appeal to the most people. By selecting things that the most people are interested in, then the more chance there is of us liking it.
Looking back at the finished production, it is easy to see that getting this feedback really helped us to achieve a successful and stereotypical successful video. I think that our product suits our target audience's needs because we went with the majority vote in terms of the questionnaire and this has contributes towards our conventional video that fits our genre well. The feedback that was given on our video was very pleasing as we found a lot of positive feedback. A lot of the comments were in relation to the cinematography, locations and lip synching which impressed a number of viewers. This was because we used a wide variety of camera angles to keep the video interesting and also many well known locations so that people could relate to some of them situations that were happening throughout the video.
